We have already talked about our machines, and how they are built. This time, we would like to tell you something about their technical features. In this occasion we will talk about the safety systems and devices that come with a machine.

Safety on the workplace is a leading theme nowadays: new technologies and new machinery create the need for a particular attention towards security devices and proper trainings before using the machines.

The purpose of the installation of safety devices is preventing injuries, which are often caused by distraction, improper use, and failures.

Since its foundation, Vicla has been paying particular attention to safety issues. This is why our machinery are equipped with top of range devices, that are built following to the latest techniques, this way we can ensure the highest standards of safety for the workplace and for the users.

A single machine is equipped with a big number of safety devices, because failures, distractions, contingencies are unforeseeable and can be very dangerous for the operator. All this can be avoided and prevented, thats why various devices cooperate in order to guarantee the general safety of the machine: photocells, PCSS, security devices on pedals (i.e. anti-choc), mushroom buttons for emergency, safety carters and contacts.

Laser photocells create an invisible barrier, if something passes through the barrier, the machines goes on safety mode, blocking the working processes. First of all, the fact that the laser beams are extremely precise tools of measurements is a valid reason to trust a technology in constant evolution. Moreover, our photocells use the double laser beam system: there are two beams that check the danger zone between the die and the punch, one for bearing and one for checking. The fact that there are two laser beams checking the danger zone makes the positioning of this safety device closer to the die, and the resulting working speed is increased: the change of speed happens to take place sooner. As a final result, we have an increase in the production rate. It is also to be noted that users safety is guaranteed and, most important, enhanced.

Photocells, emergences and failures are managed by the general controller of the safety systems, the PCSS, the default controller on Vicla machinery. This controller runs the general safety of the machine, and manages its various aspects. In case of emergency this controller turns the machine on to safety mode, preventing injuries. This same controller attends the diagnostics: when failures happen, they are immediately notified and the machine is stopped and turned on to safety mode.

Safety is also handled by the user of the machinery, who has different systems to protect himself. Safety contacts and carters avoid that the user enters the danger zone while the machine is working; the pedal has an over-stroke that stops the machine, in case of distraction of the user, who may press the pedal too much; and last but not least, the mushroom buttons, activated by the operator who sees an emergency. These buttons, too, turn the machine on to safety mode, in order to avoid injuries.
